Shotstand support

Shotstand makes App Store screenshot sets on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac: your screenshots in device frames, with headlines and backgrounds, saved at the exact sizes App Store Connect asks for. Here's how to get around, and what to do if something isn't working.

Getting started

The first time you open Shotstand, a short tour points out each part of the editor. Tap anywhere to move to the next tip. To see it again, tap the gear at the top center, then Show the tour again.

The app opens with an example set. To use your own screenshots, tap a device, then Choose screenshot, or tap + Image and pick several at once: each fills the next screen. On a Mac or iPad you can also drag images in from Finder or Files.

Moving things around

  • Move: drag anything on the canvas. It snaps to the center and to the edges between screens, shown with pink lines. Hold Option while dragging on a Mac to move freely.
  • Size and turn: pull the corner handle to resize; pull the round handle above a device to turn it.
  • Reframe a screenshot: double-tap (double-click on a Mac) a device, then drag the screenshot to show the part that matters. Pinch, or scroll on a Mac, to zoom. It snaps to the center and to the screen's edges, and its zoom settles on 100%.
  • Text: double-tap a headline to type. Put stars around a word, like *this*, to color it.
  • More room on iPad and Mac: tap the left edge of the settings panel to hide it and work on the whole canvas. Tap the edge again to bring it back.

Snapping, tap feedback, light or dark appearance, and the file type you save are all in Settings (the gear at the top center).

Saving your screenshots

Tap Export. Save all saves every screen at the size picked at the top. Save every size saves the set for iPhone 6.9", iPad 13", and Mac at once, each refitted for its device, without changing the set you're working on.

On iPhone and iPad the share sheet opens: choose Save Images for Photos, AirDrop, or Save to Files. On a Mac, pick a folder and the files are saved there. File > Save Screenshots (Cmd+E) and Save Every Size (Shift+Cmd+E) do the same.

Before you save, the Export panel checks the set: text running off the edge, a headline too long to read in search results, a screenshot shown bigger than its real size (it would look soft), or more than the 10 screenshots per size App Store Connect allows.

"Save Images" isn't in the share sheet, or Photos says no

Shotstand asks for permission only to add images to Photos, never to read them. If you declined it once, iOS won't ask again: open Settings, then Apps, then Shotstand, then Photos, and choose Add Photos Only. Or choose Save to Files instead.

My set is gone

Your set saves on the device as you work, and comes back when you reopen the app. It's stored only inside Shotstand, so deleting the app deletes it too, and it doesn't move between devices. Save your screenshots before deleting the app or changing phones.

Which sizes does the App Store need?

For iPhone, the 6.9" size (1320 × 2868) is the one App Store Connect requires; it scales it down for smaller phones. Add iPad 13" (2064 × 2752) if your app runs on iPad, and Mac (2880 × 1800) for a Mac app. Shotstand also offers iPhone 6.5" and a smaller Mac size if you need them. You can upload up to 10 screenshots per size.

Purchases and refunds

Shotstand is a one-time purchase on the App Store with no subscription and no in-app purchases. One purchase covers iPhone, iPad, and Mac with the same Apple ID. Refunds are handled by Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your data

Shotstand has no account and doesn't connect to the internet. Your screenshots and projects stay on your device. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
