Shotstand · Updated October 5, 2026

Shotstand makes App Store screenshot sets on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac: your screenshots in device frames, with headlines and backgrounds, saved at the exact sizes App Store Connect asks for. Here's how to get around, and what to do if something isn't working.

Getting started

The first time you open Shotstand, a short tour points out each part of the editor. Tap anywhere to move to the next tip. To see it again, tap the gear at the top, then Show the tour again.

The app opens with an example set. To use your own screenshots, tap a device and pick a screenshot in its panel, or tap +, then Image, and pick several at once: each one fills the next slide. On a Mac or iPad you can also drag images in from Finder or Files. To start over, open Settings and choose Start a new set: a blank set, the example, or an Apple Watch set.

Moving things around

  • Move: drag anything on the canvas. It snaps to the center and to the edges between slides, shown with pink lines. Hold Option while dragging on a Mac to move freely.
  • Size and turn: pull the corner handle to resize; pull the round handle above a device to turn it. A device's panel has buttons to turn it left or right, lean it back, or center it.
  • Reframe a screenshot: double-tap (double-click on a Mac) a device, then drag the screenshot to show the part that matters. Pinch, or scroll on a Mac, to zoom. It snaps to the center and to the screen's edges.
  • Same look everywhere: in a device's panel, Use this size, angle, and look on every iPhone (or iPad, Mac, Watch) copies it to the rest of the set.
  • Text: double-tap a headline to type. Put stars around a word, like *this*, to color it. Long headlines shrink to fit three lines; turn that off in Text style.
  • Slides: drag a thumbnail in the strip to reorder. Hold one (right-click on a Mac) to export, duplicate, select, or delete it.

A tidy status bar

On an iPhone or iPad device, turn on Clean status bar in its panel. Shotstand draws 9:41 with full signal, Wi-Fi, and battery over the screenshot's own status bar, on the color already at the top of your screenshot. It lines up best when the screenshot fills the screen at 100%.

Saving your screenshots

Tap Export. Save all saves every slide at the size picked at the top, as JPEG or PNG. With Premium, Save every size saves the set for iPhone 6.9", iPad 13", and Mac at once, each refitted for its device, without changing the set you're working on.

On iPhone and iPad the share sheet opens: choose Save Images for Photos, AirDrop, or Save to Files. On a Mac, pick a folder and the files are saved there. File > Save Screenshots (Cmd+E) and Save Every Size (Shift+Cmd+E) do the same.

Before you save, the Export panel checks the set: text running off the edge, a headline too long to read in search results, a screenshot shown bigger than its real size (it would look soft), or more than the 10 screenshots per size App Store Connect allows.

"Save Images" isn't in the share sheet, or Photos says no

Shotstand asks for permission only to add images to Photos, never to read them. If you declined it once, iOS won't ask again: open Settings, then Apps, then Shotstand, then Photos, and choose Add Photos Only. Or choose Save to Files instead.

My set is gone

Your set saves on the device as you work, and comes back when you reopen the app. It's stored only inside Shotstand, so deleting the app deletes it too, and it doesn't move between devices. Save your screenshots before deleting the app or changing phones.

Which sizes does the App Store need?

For iPhone, make the 6.9" size (1320 × 2868); App Store Connect scales it down for smaller phones. Add iPad 13" (2064 × 2752) if your app runs on iPad, Mac (2880 × 1800) for a Mac app, and an Apple Watch size (422 × 514 is the largest) for a watch app. You can upload up to 10 screenshots per size. Shotstand Premium

Shotstand is free. Shotstand Premium is a one-time in-app purchase ($0.99 in the US; your App Store shows your local price) that adds saving every size at once, more languages, templates, photo backgrounds, the whole set as one wide image, and Apple Watch. It isn't a subscription. A lock next to a button means it's part of Premium; tapping it shows what's included.

  • On another device: Premium bought on your iPhone also works on your iPad and Mac with the same Apple Account. If it doesn't show right away, open Settings (the gear) and tap Restore purchase.
  • "Waiting for approval": with Ask to Buy, the purchase finishes once a family organizer approves it, and Premium unlocks on its own.
  • Refunds: Apple handles them at reportaproblem.apple.com. Sets you made keep what they already have.

Ideas and bug reports

In Shotstand's Settings, under Help, Submit feedback opens an email in your own mail app. Feature ideas are welcome; several features in the app started that way.

It helps to include your device and its iOS, iPadOS, or macOS version, and what you were doing when it went wrong. A screenshot of the problem is the fastest way to explain it.
